I watched the trailer for Shindler's List, because although it isn't of the thriller genre it does contain a lot of violence with guns which I am including in my trailer. I looked at the trailer to try and gain information as to how to show the action without giving too much away. I found that they just simply show the person with the weapon then the target/ victim then do a series of quick cuts of other action, this leaves whether the person got shot or not up to the audience to decide at it also poses an enigma code of 'Why is that person being shot.' 'Who is the victim?' etc.

I like the fact that the film is black and white, but I think that only works because it is set in the past but mine is set in the present I don't think that it would make much sense. I think that the opening with 'The following preview...' looks very effective in the black and white/grayscale and the jolted effect on it that makes it feel like an old style film. I think this is a general convention of most horror films, which is something I wish to include in my thriller as I think merging two genres especially a thriller and horror adds to the tension. It is very hard to just conform to one certain genre.
